NortheastFolk is a folk news and discussion forum run by Matt Lindi and Jeff Boudreau that is 100% free and member run. It is a great resource, limited only by member participation.

Website: http://www.northeastfolk.org/

Some key features:

• No spam! Unlike a listserve, the site generates no email. Members participate and read only what they choose by going to the site. A handy “new posts since last visit” feature presents in summary form what is new.

• Folk music calendar. View all concerts by month; when you see one of interest, click and open the details in a new window where you can add your thoughts. Have information about a concert not listed? Add it yourself! http://northeastfolk.org/folkforum/index.php?action=calendar

• Logical forum and child board layout. Just about any topic exists, and if there is something missing, ask a moderator to add.

From Camille Breeze:

Join us on Saturday, February 23rd for a truly special evening

featuring former Boston-area musician Hugh Moffatt. Through more than

twenty-five years as a singer and songwriter, there isn't much that

the

former Boston-area musician Hugh Moffatt hasn't done. The list of artists who have recorded his

songs ranges from Patti Page to Jerry Lee Lewis to The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to Merle Haggard,

Dolly Parton and Alabama. His song "Rose of My Heart" is part of Johnny Cash's last recording, American V: A Hundred Highways.

Hugh has released nine albums and

toured

extensively around the world.

We are delighted that Hugh will be kicking off his New England tour

with all of us at CAPE! We will start the open mike at 7, with a break

for Peter's set from 8-9. The two openers will be Music At the Mills

students Karen Trent and George Kandouris.

The C.A.P.E. Coffeehouse is held on the 4th Saturday of every month. We are located at the Old Methodist Meetinghouse, 495 Main Street,

Wareham , Massachusetts.

Open mike starts at 7 pm. $10.00 Adults / $5.00 students & open

mike performers. For more information call David Jackson at (781)724-9798, email capecoffehouse@gmail.com, or visit www.cape.webbweaver.com. The Coalition of Artists Performing for Education was founded in 1999.
