Sign up:
There is an email list you may sign up for here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040a4da8ad2ea2f85-pcaopen4#/
We do advance sign ups using the signup genius service. When the sign up sheet is live for a given open mike we will send an email notification out and post a link on the PCA Open mike Facebook Group.
The slots are randomized from the sign up to determine the performance order.
You may also sign up in person at the open mike.
Number of songs:
The number of songs will vary depending on the number of folks signed up in order to get everyone on and stop at a good time.
If you are a duo or more I may ask you to only take up one slot if it is a busy night and not sign up for one slot per person.
Cover: There is a $5 cover that goes 100% to the PCA. If you can’t afford the cover come anyway and put in extra another time.
Hat: We pass a hat around to pay the featured performer . Put whatever amount you can in the hat- it all goes to the feature
Feature performer: I choose the featured performer based on lot of criteria. If you are not asked to be a feature sometime that does not mean you aren’t good enough or anything, We just don’t have that many openings in a year.
Material: Originals; cover songs, spoken word, instrumentals are all welcome. You may bring backing tracks on a phone if you need them. No trick dogs.
Stage set up: We usually set up three vocal mikes, one instrument mike and two DI cables. There are music stands and chairs available. We can accommodate other equipment as well. Ask ahead.
Performance: Relax and have fun, everyone there is on your side. Try to tune up and prepare while the act before you is playing. It is difficult to do it quietly, we don’t have a true green room space so just do the best you can.
